The International Institute of Humanitarian Law (IHL) is putting on a Specialised Workshop on the Protection of Cultural Property in Armed Conflict from December 13th-15th in Italy. IHL explains:

Our Teaching Staff and Facilitators are drawn from experienced senior military legal officers, leading academics practising in the field and experts from international organisations. Speakers already confirmed include recognised experts in this field: Professor Charles Garraway (British Red Cross), Mr Richard Jackson (US Army), Dr Laurie Rush (NATO Defence College), Dr Joris Kila (University of Amsterdam) and Mr Jan Hladik (UNESCO).

This three day long Workshop is a must for experienced military and civilian legal advisers and military officers, archivists, government officials and other civilian cultural property specialists with a need for an in-depth knowledge of the practical IHL issues relating to cultural property. Academics and students with an interest in developing a deeper understanding of the subject area are also welcome to attend.
