The MET’s agreed to return 19 archaeological objects to Egypt. The arrangement is a victory for Egypt, which had no legal claim to the artifacts, but was demanding their return on ethical grounds. The following NPR spot talks about the repatriation, and whether this means the British Museum will be sending back that Rosetta Stone that Egypt’s been asking about:
Egypt Called; It Wants Its Rosetta Stone Back. (You’ll have to take the three minutes to listen; the transcript makes no sense and is underwhelming without the sound effects and British accents.)
